Please Note
We have had some issues during the update and are working to resolve these as quickly as possible. We will keep you informed of any changes in this matter.
Changes
- Access Rights
Following on from the ability to have multiple users for a Parago account you can now select what action each user is allowed to perform. For example, this allows a user to be set so that they can edit asset information but not delete assets, or run reports but not delete them.
- Disposal of Assets
Many users have asked for a method that would allow them to retain information about assets that have been disposed of. Until now, the recommended option was to place the assets in a box, which would prevent any software from being picked up by the licence manager. Now, unless you turn the feature off, any assets that are deleted will be retained by the system, allowing the disposal to be approved of by an authorised user and have information about their disposal added. If there are assets that have been dispose of but not approved then you will be informed of them near the top of the screen.
- Depreciation
We have introduced a simple depreciation system that will allow the value of an asset to depreciate over time. If the Purchase Date and Cost fields of an asset are set on the Purchase Info tab then you can also set the Depreciate Over field to the length of time over which you wish the asset to depreciate (for example ‘5 years’ or ‘18 months’). Once done the Depreciated Value field will be regularly updated with the current value of the asset. You may also set the Depreciate Over field to ‘written off’ which will result in the Depreciated Value of the asset being zero.
- Software licence improvements
- Prohibited software licences
As requested by several users, we have added an additional software licence type that will alert you if any matching software is installed on machines managed by ParagoAgent.
- Software licence suites
We have added support for software suites to the licence manager. Some software packages install multiple items in the list of software but only require one licence. Until now adding all the names of the software would cause each machine to use multiple licences. Now, by marking a software licence as a suite only a single licence will be used per machine.
- Software licence information
More fields have been added to the software licences to allow you to enter purchase information and an expiry field which, if entered, will alert you if a licence has expired.
- Prohibited software licences
- Navigation improvements
Improvements have been made to the navigation about the Parago system by allowing users to access more areas directly from the home page.
- Speed improvements
We have made some changes to the system that will result in improvement to the speed of the Parago system. This is the first in an ongoing program of improvements that will improve the efficiency of the system and your Parago experience.
